Chapter 1: No House, No Car, No Savings

Looking at the crematorium ahead, Nancy Zhao couldnt help but feel a mix of amusement and distress!

Had it not been for the matchmakers repeated assurances that the other party was a healthy normal person, she would have thought she was here to go on a date with a ghost!

However, she was an atheist and didnt feel any ill omen!

The sky was overcast, blocking the bright sun!

Getting out of the car, Nancy Zhao opened her umbrella and looked ahead!

A man in a black suit was holding a large black umbrella, walking out of the crematoriums main gate.

Nancy Zhao took out the photo to take a look, confirming it was the same person.

She walked over and initiated the conversation: "Hello, Im Nancy Zhao!"

While speaking, she stealthily observed him; he was even more handsome than in the photo.

His handsome features, complemented by the black suit, looked serious and dignified.

His stern face, however, appeared somewhat cold and unwelcoming!

Well, it was understandable; after all, someone had just died in his family, and anyone would be hard-pressed to be cheerful under such circumstances!

"My conditions should have been explained to you by the matchmaker. If you agree, we can go get married right now!"

The matchmaker had said he was a white-collar worker, but with no house, no car, and no savings, and his hometown was in the countryside. He was 30 years old, considered an older unmarried man.

But getting married on the first blind date鈥攚asnt that a bit too hasty?

David Gu was impatient and was about to leave.

"Mr. Gu, lets be frank. We both need a spouse, so lets discuss what we expect from each other or what we can provide for each other. Only if we agree on these points can our lives be harmonious."

David Gu inwardly sneered: what he could provide was naturally money!

He chose this location for the blind date to scare off the woman, but she still came!

A woman who would agree to a blind date at a place like a crematorium must be incredibly money-hungry.

If it werent for his grandmothers health threat, he would never have come!

Thinking of this, he spoke bluntly.

"Im very busy with work and often have to work overtime, so I wont have time to take care of you."

Nancy Zhao nodded in understanding; it was normal for an ordinary white-collar worker to be busy and often work overtime, which showed he was ambitious, a good thing!

"I often travel for business and have limited time in River City!"

Well, she also wanted freedom, and if they got married, it would not disturb each others lives!

"My assets need to be organized, and we can sign an agreement. If we divorce, I will compensate you accordingly. I will send you the compensation list later via email."

"Theres no need for that. Even if we get married, we will be financially independent from each other! If we divorce, no compensation is needed," Nancy Zhao shook her head in refusal.
